Sixdays Weekend in Berlin 2026 🇩🇪 – DAY 1 – Berlin Velodrome, Germany

Six-day racing is one of the oldest and wildest traditions in cycling. SIXDAYS takes this legendary format and cranks it up for today’s audiences. World champions, Olympic medalists, and young/rising track cycling stars meet on the track and race their hearts out over multiple evenings. But unlike road races where you compete once and call it a day, these riders compete in up to eight track cycling disciplines per night – sprints, Madison races, elimination battles, and more – with only short breaks between events. It’s a test of speed, tactics, recovery, and sheer grit.

Vincent Hoppezak and Yoeri Havik from the Netherlands are in 1st place after the first day of the 113th Berlin Six-Day Race in the Madison and are clearly leading ahead of the German duo Roger Kluge and Moritz Malcharek. The SIXDAYS Weekend was officially started at the Velodrom Berlin in front of around 6,500 spectators by former cyclist Simon Geschke and TV-Total presenter Sebastian Pufpaff. On the first day, the stands were already filled to the brim. For the second day, all seats are sold out. However, tickets for the interior are still available.
Madison
Two days before the start of the European Championships in Konya, Turkey, all eyes were on last year’s winner Roger Kluge and his new partner Moritz Augenstein, but he had to withdraw at short notice due to illness. Moritz Malcharek from Berlin stepped in for him. However, the two German riders could not get past the two Dutchmen Vincent Hoppezak and Yoeri Havik. 77 points for Hoppezak/Havik are compared to 53 points for Kluge/Malcharek. The two Danes Anders Fynbo and Oskar Winkler are already one lap behind.
Sprinters
The eagerly awaited return of Sixdays legend Max Levy sees the current junior national coach in 1st place after the first day with 50 points. His closest pursuers are Luca Nissel (47 points) and Benjamin Bock (40 points). Robert Förstemann follows in 4th place with 34 points. Among the sprinters, Alessa-Catriona Pröpster is in 1st place after the first day with 50 points. Georgette Viorica Rand from Great Britain is in second place in the race with 43 points, one point ahead of Lara-Sophie Jäger.

In addition to the sporting events, the Velodrom Berlin provided the best entertainment, with DJ beats, lots of music, food and drinks. In a tandem show race, Paralympics bronze medallist Robert Förstemann raced together with TV-Total presenter Sebastian Pufpaff against British Paralympics silver medallist Matthew Rotherham and BB radio morning presenter Marcus Kaiser. The thrilling finish of a close race will soon be shown on TV Total. A total of 13 endurance teams, 6 female and 6 male sprinters will once again provide plenty of action on the 250-metre oval of the Velodrom Berlinsorgen.
Day 2 brings the decision
On the second day of the SIXDAYS Weekend, admission will also be at 5:30 p.m., with the first race starting at 6:40 p.m. The 1,000 meter world record attempt by Kluge/Augenstein, which could not take place on the first day due to Moritz Augenstein’s retirement, is scheduled to take place on the second day in front of a large crowd. Shortly before midnight, it is then clear which team will win the big chase. In addition to the sport, as always at the Berlin Six-Day Race, there will be a lot of music, drinks, food and lots of entertainment.
