The climbs are often irregular, featuring steep ramps, tight hairpins, and exposed sections where the wind can shift unpredictably, while the descents are fast and technical, requiring sharp bike-handling skills to navigate the twisting roads.

The race dynamics are defined by the constant changes in rhythm, with attacks launching on the steepest sections or during the technical descents, where gaps can open in an instant. The peloton rarely has time to regroup, as the relentless succession of climbs and descents ensures that the race remains aggressive from start to finish.
