MTB Hero Marathon World Cup 2026 – 3 – Costa Blanca – Calpe-Benissa – Sant Julià de Lòria, Andorra 🇦🇩 : DISTANCE 64 km, ELEVATION 2.239 HM
The HERO UCI Cross-country Marathon World Cup is a premier international mountain bike series that unites several of Europe’s most legendary long-distance races under a single competitive banner. This circuit is designed to crown the world’s most consistent marathon specialists by challenging them across diverse and extreme terrains, ranging from Mediterranean coastal trails to the high-altitude peaks of the Dolomites. One of the most distinctive features of the HERO series is its inclusive format, which allows thousands of amateur and master cyclists to compete on the exact same courses and on the same day as the world’s top elite professionals.
The race takes place in Sant Julià de Lòria at 908 meters above sea level, surrounded by the majestic peaks, lush valleys, and dense forests of the Pyrenees — one of Europe’s most breathtaking natural havens.
At the center of this spectacular setting lies Naturland, a renowned destination for cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts alike. With its panoramic views, inspiring landscapes, and untouched beauty, Naturland stands as a true icon of nature at its finest.
TEMPERATURES
At the end of May, Naturland in Andorra enjoys mild spring conditions, with daytime temperatures between 15°C and 22°C. Early mornings and evenings can be cooler, so riders should be prepared for refreshing alpine air at higher altitudes—perfect for a crisp and energizing ride through the Pyrenees.
The 2026 Naturland–Andorra route is a slightly new one and is true mountain challenge that links Andorra and Catalonia in one spectacular loop. Starting at Naturland (Cota 2000), riders dive into a fast descent to the Spanish side before tackling rolling terrain through Bescaran. From there begins a relentless 13 km climb back into Andorra, reaching over 2,200 m. Technical descents, rocky singletracks, and a final climb to 2,000 m complete this demanding yet stunning course through the Pyrenees.
