Vuelta a Cantabria – GP. Gobierno de Cantabria 2026 🇪🇸 (2.1) MJ – Stage 1 – Puente Viesgo – Puente Viesgo : 99,7 km
Vuelta a Cantabria is a UCI junior multi-stage road race through the rolling terrain of Cantabria, combining narrow rural roads, repeated climbs and fast connecting sections across three stages. The opening stage covers nearly 100 km and includes the ascent to Hijas, two circuits featuring the Alto de San Martín, and a final rise of more than 1.5 km toward the finish. The second stage covers 119 km, with two laps incorporating the Alto de La Montaña before a short, steep ascent near Salceda only around 2 km from the line. The final 115 km stage features repeated climbs including Alto de Cildad and Alto de Ubiarco, with another ascent of Cildad in the closing 10 km. The rolling profile produces frequent changes of rhythm, while narrow roads and short climbs make positioning important. The peloton can fragment on successive ascents before regrouping on descents and flatter sections. Finishes can develop from reduced groups, late attacks or short uphill sprints.
