Tour du Carmausin Segala U19 2026 🇫🇷 (1.1) MJ – Valderiès – Carmaux : 133,7 km
Tour du Carmausin Ségala is a UCI 1.1 classification that winds through the sun-drenched, rolling hills of southwestern France’s Ségala region, where the roads rise and fall like the breath of the land itself, their surfaces a mix of smooth tarmac and rough, weathered stretches that hum beneath the wheels. The terrain is a relentless succession of short, punchy climbs and fast descents, their gradients sharp and unyielding, forcing riders to dig deep with every acceleration. The ascents, often no longer than a kilometer, are steep and technical, their slopes lined with spectators who cheer as the peloton fractures under the pressure, while the descents twist through tight bends and narrow lanes, their surfaces slick with gravel or dampness, demanding precision and nerve. Between the climbs, the route flattens briefly, but the roads remain exposed, the wind cutting across the open plateaus and turning the race into a tactical battle for position. The race typically begins with a cautious rhythm, the peloton conserving energy for the inevitable attacks, but as the kilometers pass, the accelerations grow more frequent, the climbs serving as launchpads for moves that thin the group to the strongest. The finish often arrives after a final, leg-sapping ascent or a fast descent into a village square, where a reduced bunch sprints for victory, or a lone rider who has timed their move to perfection holds off the chasing pack by a bike length or less, the golden light of late afternoon casting long shadows across the road.
