Sauerlandrundfahrt 2026 🇩🇪 (2.2) ME – Stage 2 – Brilon – Siedlinghausen : 122,9 km
The SauerlandRundfahrt is a UCI 2.2 four-stage road race through the hilly and wooded terrain of South Westphalia, combining a short individual time trial with three road stages of approximately 122–135 km. The opening 13.5 km time trial features rolling terrain and repeated changes of pace, while the road stages are defined by numerous climbs, fast descents and narrow, winding roads. Steeper ramps include gradients reaching around 20% on some sections, with the Hirschberger Wand rising to approximately 33%, creating a sharp test of power and bike control. Repeated elevation changes make energy management important, while descents reward precise positioning and confident handling. The peloton can fragment on successive climbs before regrouping on flatter valley roads, with breakaways and attacks developing as fatigue builds. The final 133 km stage finishes on the Kahlen Asten, adding a sustained uphill finale. Finishes can come from reduced groups, late attacks or riders surviving the final climbs.
