The Ötztaler Mountainbike Festival is a hard day in the saddle. The trails are steep, the air is thin, and the rocks don’t care if you’re having a good time. You’ll climb until your legs burn, descend fast enough to make mistakes, and finish with dirt in places dirt shouldn’t be. The views are nice, if you remember to look up. The locals know the trails like the back of their hand, and they’ll pass you with a nod like they’re out for a Sunday ride. It’s not about suffering—it’s just a long day in the mountains. You’ll be tired. You might even crash. But you’ll finish, and that’s something.
