90th Coppa Collecchio 2026 🇮🇹 (1.12) ME – Collecchio – Collecchio : 137,9 km
The Coppa Collecchio is an annual one-day cycling race held in the Collecchio commune of Province of Parma, Italy. It is organized by G.S. Virtus Collecchio.
The 90th Collecchio Cup went to Leonardo Meccia of the Technipes Team #inEmiliaRomagna. The cyclist from Cesenatico, after taking off during the last lap together with Marco Pezzani of the Trentino Cycling Team, on the unprecedented climb of Via Capanna inside the Boschi di Carrega placed the decisive extension, then managing to maintain a small but sufficient advantage (22″) on the group and arriving only, with his arms raised, at the finish line of Viale Libertà. The first of the beaten is Lorenzo Magli of Team Hopplà, who regulated Marco Martini, the winner’s teammate, in the volley.
The race for elite and under 23 organized by G.S. Virtus Collecchio (with President Roberto Pesci, Vice President Gabriele Carloni and numerous volunteers) with the collaboration of the Municipality of Collecchio (starter the mayor Maristella Galli and present the councilors for Sport Tommaso Martinelli and Tourism Stefano Risoli), has offered fans a captivating show from the first kilometers.
To start the attacks were, already in the first round, Marco Pezzani, Giacomo Cannizzaro and Riccardo Arici. The group, however, did not let it go and took them back very soon. Others have sought the exit, but the attempts have all been short-lived. The most substantial escape started at the beginning of the seventh round, right on the finish line, with Carlo Bonetto staying in front for several kilometers, first alone reaching a maximum advantage of 1′ 36″ and managing to pass in the lead on the first GPM of the day, then with five other counterattackers (Riccardo Perani, Mattia Ballerini, Matteo Luci, Edoardo Burani and Leonardo Meccia). Sewing the tear during the eighth lap, the fight started again.
It is only in the tenth and last round that the situation has emerged. Meccia and Pezzani attacked and the attempts to reabsorb them by a group pulled mainly by the men of the Beltrami TSA Tre Colli and Team Hopplà were of no use, so much so that, thanks to regular changes, they managed to earn up to 41″. The uphill extension of Meccia, then, definitively closed the games: it passed first on the GPM and flew alone towards a triumphal arrival. His also the combative prize named after Paolo Brunazzi. The special ranking of the GPM, on the other hand, saw Maxwell Hereward of the Zappi Racing Team victorious.
