Gran Prix Chiriquí 2026 🇵🇦 (1.2) ME – David – Las Lomas : 170,5 km
Gran Prix Chiriquí is a UCI 1.2 one-day road race through the rural landscapes of western Panama, combining paved agricultural roads, rolling countryside and gently rising terrain toward the surrounding foothills. The course typically features long, fast sections interrupted by short climbs and gradual descents, creating moderate elevation changes rather than a sustained mountain test. Most gradients are manageable, although steeper ramps can require brief accelerations and careful energy management. Open roads, narrow rural sections and frequent changes in direction make positioning important, particularly when the peloton approaches climbs or exposed stretches. Tropical heat, high humidity and sudden rainfall can increase fatigue and affect road conditions, while wind may influence the pace across open farmland. Racing can develop through early breakaway attempts before the peloton organizes a pursuit. Short climbs and repeated accelerations can split the field, although flatter roads allow groups to regroup. The finish can favor a reduced-group sprint, a late attack or a breakaway that survives the chase.
