MTB Roc d’Azur 2026 (XCM) ME – Base nature de Fréjus : 55 km | D+: 1275m
Roc d’Azur 2026 is a cross-country mountain bike marathon through the Massif des Maures, covering 55 km with approximately 1,275 metres of climbing. The route combines hard-packed forest tracks, sandy stretches and rocky trails, alternating sustained climbs with technical descents that offer limited recovery. Repeated changes in gradient reward steady pacing, while loose stones, uneven surfaces and tight turns demand careful line choice and controlled braking. The terrain rises and falls across a succession of hills rather than one decisive summit, making energy management important throughout the distance. Narrow trails and rough downhill sections can interrupt momentum, while exposed stretches may bring wind and changing grip conditions. Riders must balance early positioning with conserving strength for the later climbs, where accumulated fatigue can create gaps between groups. The field may split on ascents and regroup on faster tracks, but technical descents can extend differences. The finish favors riders who combine endurance, consistent climbing power and confident bike handling.
