Trofeo Sergio e Andrea Tavana is a one-day youth road race through the hilly roads of Lombardy, combining narrow valley roads, rolling countryside and several sustained climbs around the Val Trompia. The course typically covers around 70–75 km, making the race relatively short but demanding because of its concentrated elevation changes and high pace. The route follows a mixture of paved urban and rural roads, with climbs such as Colle Sant’Eusebio providing the main physical challenge. Gradients vary through the ascent, with steeper sections requiring short accelerations and careful energy management. Fast descents, tight bends and changing road widths add a technical element, while riders must remain well positioned before the principal climbs. The race can begin at a rapid tempo, with attacks and breakaway attempts developing as the peloton reaches the hillier sections. The field may fragment on the climbs before regrouping on flatter roads and descents. The finish can come from a reduced group, a late solo attack or a sprint after the final climb.
