Grand Prix Cerami is a UCI 1.2 one-day road race through the rolling countryside of Hainaut in Belgium, combining open farmland, narrow rural roads, short climbs and fast connecting sections. The course typically covers around 175–200 km and features modest but persistent elevation changes rather than prolonged mountain ascents. Short climbs can reach gradients of 5–8%, with occasional steeper ramps creating brief, high-intensity efforts. In the traditional Belgian style, changing road widths, tight corners and exposed sections make positioning important, particularly before climbs and technical passages. Wind across open agricultural terrain can stretch the peloton and encourage the formation of small groups or echelons. The race can develop through an early breakaway, followed by repeated accelerations as riders reach the more undulating sections. Short climbs gradually increase fatigue while flatter roads allow groups to regroup. As the finish approaches, attacks and counterattacks become increasingly important. The finale can produce a reduced-group sprint, a late breakaway or a solo move after the final selective sections.
