Textielprijs Vichte is a one-day road race for elite and U23 riders through the rolling roads of West Flanders, combining open farmland, narrow rural lanes and repeated short climbs. The course typically covers around 165–170 km and is raced over multiple laps, creating a rhythm of repeated accelerations, climbs and fast connecting sections. The Tiegemberg provides the principal elevation change, with sections approaching 10% and requiring a sharp increase in effort before a rapid descent. Other undulating roads around the circuit feature short rises, tight corners and changing road widths, making positioning particularly important. Open agricultural sections can expose the peloton to crosswinds, while repeated passages over the same roads allow riders to respond quickly to attacks and regrouping. Racing can be aggressive from the opening laps, with breakaway attempts followed by counterattacks as groups form and are gradually brought back. As fatigue accumulates, the final laps become increasingly selective. The finish can come from a reduced group, a late breakaway or a fast sprint after the final climb.
