Tour of Shanghai 2026 🇨🇳 (2.2) ME – Stagge 1 – Jiading – Jiading : 95,3 km
The race Tour of Shanghai is a UCI 2.2 multi-stage road race on the UCI Asia Tour, covering approximately 290 km across three stages through Shanghai’s five suburban new cities. The predominantly flat urban and suburban roads feature wide paved sections, long straights, frequent junctions and fast transitions through developed areas, with relatively limited sustained climbing. The three stages range from roughly 95 km upward, placing emphasis on speed, positioning and repeated accelerations rather than prolonged mountain efforts. High humidity, heat and changing wind exposure can add an environmental dimension, while technical city sections demand concentration and careful line choice. The opening kilometres can be fast as riders contest position, before breakaways establish themselves and the peloton settles into a controlled rhythm. As the roads narrow or approach finishing circuits, positioning becomes increasingly important, with the field often regrouping after accelerations. Finishes are suited to fast sprints, although late attacks can create opportunities for small groups or solo riders.
