40th Giro del Medio Brenta 2026 🇮🇹 (1.2) ME – Villa del Conte – Le Melette (Gallio) : 175 km
Giro del Medio Brenta is a UCI 1.2 classification one-day event that unfolds through the rugged, picturesque foothills of the Venetian Prealps, where the roads twist and climb across a landscape of dense forests, deep valleys, and small alpine villages. The terrain is predominantly hilly to mountainous, with a series of short but steep climbs and longer, sustained ascents that test both power and endurance. Gradients frequently reach 8–12%, with some ramps exceeding 15% on narrow, winding roads that demand constant effort and precise bike handling. The descents are fast and technical, featuring tight switchbacks, uneven surfaces, and sudden changes in camber that reward confidence and skill.
The race dynamics are shaped by the relentless climbing and the tactical opportunities it presents, with attacks launching on the steepest sections or during the technical descents, where gaps can open quickly in the high-speed moments. The peloton thins as the race progresses, with smaller groups forming on the most challenging climbs, while the flatter sections allow for brief moments of recovery before the next ascent. The race often sees a select group of climbers contesting the finale, either on a steep uphill finish or after a fast descent into the valley. The Giro del Medio Brenta is a race of attrition, where the combination of relentless climbs, technical descents, and unpredictable weather creates a demanding and unforgiving test of strength and strategy.
