38th Trofeo GD Dorigo – M.O. Sogno Veneto – Trofeo Merotto Spumanti 2026 🇮🇹 (1.1) MJ – Pieve di Soligo – Pieve di Soligo : 135,2 km
Trofeo GD Dorigo is a UCI 1.1 classification that unfolds across the undulating and picturesque landscapes of northeastern Italy, where the roads weave through vineyard-covered hills, dense forests, and charming rural villages. The terrain is a mix of rolling climbs and fast descents, with gradients typically ranging from 4–9% on narrow, winding roads that demand constant power output and precise handling. The ascents are often irregular, featuring short, steep ramps followed by false flats or technical switchbacks, while the descents are fast and technical, with tight corners and uneven surfaces that test a rider’s nerve and control.
The race dynamics are shaped by the constant changes in rhythm, with attacks frequently launching on the steepest sections or during the technical descents, where gaps can open quickly. The peloton rarely has time to regroup, as the road either climbs or plummets, leaving little room for recovery. The final kilometers often feature a decisive climb or a fast, technical run-in through a village or along a valley road, where a reduced bunch sprint or a small breakaway group contests the line. The Trofeo GD Dorigo rewards aggression, tactical awareness, and the ability to thrive in chaotic, high-speed conditions, capturing the essence of racing in one of Italy’s most scenic and challenging regions.
Danish victory at the international Trofeo G.Dorigo for juniors that took place in Pieve di Soligo in the Treviso area. The strong passer of the grenke-Auto Eder preceded the Italian pair formed by Thomas Mariotto, from Autozai Contri, and Guido Viero from Nordest Petrucci Assali Stefen. The Austrian Wrolich and the New Zealander Shannon follow: then Deon, Alessiani, Gaggioli, Dalla Pria and Zago.
