The SCOTT Mediterranean Epic MTB is one of the most prestigious multi-stage mountain bike races on the international scene. With a route that seamlessly blends the Mediterranean coast of Oropesa del Mar with the mountains of the Castellón province, this UCI Hors Catégorie event is not only a must-do for elite cyclists from around the world, but also for all those passionate mountain bike enthusiasts looking to push their limits in a top-level competition.
The third day of this edition of the Mediterranean Epic is the longest stage of all. An 82 km stage that starts with some easy terrain to stretch out the group. From kilometre 14, the longest climb of the stage begins, the GARMIN climb, taking us to the top of the Cabanes pass after riding an uphill trail.
From there, we enter the typical terrain of the Cabanes area: no extreme climbs, but a constant series of rollers, combining rocky trails and dirt tracks, which will bring usto the first feed station at kilometre 29.The stage continues with the same type of terrain, and just before reaching the airport, we ride through the Don Vallsforest, a spectacular, flowyforest that will leaveeveryrider amazed. We keep rolling along tracks and trails to reach Cabanes, where we find the second feed station at kilometre 44. Next up is the toughest climb of the day, leading into the Marmudella trail. Afterwards, we tackle the Armaris trail, which takes us to the last feed station, before beginning the descent to Oropesa. Here weridetwo consecutive flowytrails, closing thestage at the beautiful beach of Oropesa.
