The SCOTT Mediterranean Epic MTB is one of the most prestigious multi-stage mountain bike races on the international scene. With a route that seamlessly blends the Mediterranean coast of Oropesa del Mar with the mountains of the Castellón province, this UCI Hors Catégorie event is not only a must-do for elite cyclists from around the world, but also for all those passionate mountain bike enthusiasts looking to push their limits in a top-level competition.
Starting at Torre del Rey in Oropesa del Mar, riders will take the start one by one along La Concha beach heading south. After a couple ofkilometers on the flat, they will facethe firstslope,short buttechnical,that will putmorethan one ofthe riders to the test…
Once past the radar of Oropesa, they will descend through a wooded area, a path through the ravine and an uphill path which will lead to the hardest climb of the stage. The end of this climb will be the highest point of the time trial by MAXXIS. From this point, riders will begin the descent along the “Mas de Rita” path, a fun and technical downhill to finish in a long and fast track and a flat area that will lead to finish thecoursein green beach.
