Coppa Collecchio 2025 🇮🇹 (1.12) ME – Collecchio – Collecchio : 148,3 km
The Coppa Collecchio is an annual one-day cycling race held in the Collecchio commune of Province of Parma, Italy. It is organized by G.S. Virtus Collecchio.
Danish domination at the Collecchio Cup. Dennis Lock of the General Store won the 89th edition of the cycling race for elite and under 23 beating his compatriot Jaspar Lonsdale of the Rostese Cycling. In third place, separated by only one second, was Kevin Pezzo Rosola, teammate of the first classified.
The escape that decided the race ˗ organized by G.S. Virtus Collecchio (with president Roberto Pesci, vice president Gabriele Carloni and numerous volunteers) with the collaboration of the Municipality (starter the mayor Maristella Galli and present the Councilor for Tourism Stefano Risoli) ˗ started during the fifth round with a group of 18 units taking the side: Harding, Leali, Quadriglia, Regnti, Mykola Hovorun, Fede, Tommaso Bessega, Manenti, Lock, Sofia, Nembrini, Cordioli, Lonsdale, Pezzo Rosola, Bosio and, later, also Lavelli, Gialli and Roberts proceeding by mutual agreement managed to gain a head start of up to 5’19”.
In the last three laps, the most challenging ones for the inclusion of the Grand Prix of the Mountain of Segalara, the race exploded. Lock, Bosio and Lonsdale were the absolute protagonists (the passes at the top of the climb were also divided).
The General Store duo made the numerical superiority prevail: Bosio played a team by being generous in shooting on multiple occasions and Lock tried to finalize by attempting the winning stretch two kilometers from the finish. Lonsdale, however, was not surprised and managed to show up in the lead on the final straight, but then had to give in to Lock’s peremptory cue, who crossed the finish line with his arms raised (he also went to the first place in the GPM ranking). Behind them, meanwhile, they made themselves again under the other fugitives who for a breath had to settle for the positions of support.
This year a special prize was also awarded to the most combative of the day named after Paolo Brunazzi: Damiano Lavelli of ASD G.C. won it. Sissio Team.
