Vuelta a San Juan 2026 🇦🇷 (NE) ME – Stage 6 – Sarmiento – Sarmiento : 124,3 km
The traditional and recognized San Juan road cycling race , aimed at male cyclists of the U23 and Elite category, will be attended by renowned local, national and international teams from neighboring countries. The Vuelta a San Juan will have the organization of Pedal Club Olimpia, support from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport with the Secretariat of Sports and San Juan Sports Agency, supervision of the San Juan Cycling Federation and the main patronage of the Government of San Juan.
Scorching afternoon in San Juan, with 38 degrees, for the sixth stage of the Vuelta. On this occasion it was returned to Media Agua, which point of start and finish. The partial started at 15:48 hours in Plaza Media Agua, in front of the Municipality of Sarmiento with 107 cyclists out of 109 who were going to leave, but two Brazilians involved in Wednesday’s ride and that brought physical consequences for them were canceled.
There was a controlled train by Rivadavia Street to the west to José Ares Street, to the north to Barbosa Street, to the west to Route 4, to the north until crossing the train tracks and after 1,300 meters the official track was given.
Twenty minutes later there was an important escape because between the protagonists, Tomás Moyano and Arian Etcheverry, with the advantage greater than the two minutes they achieved, they went on to command the general.

The first Meta Sprint was on Aberastain and Furque Street, Pocito, at 41.7 km. The winner was Tomas Moyano (three bonus seconds and three points), second Arian Etcheverry (two points and two second bonuses), third Exequiel Alarcón (one point and one second).
Once that goal was won, the Puntano Moyano decided not to continue with the effort, letting his three escape companions continue and he decided to wait for the peloton.
Later, two more men joined before arriving at the Circunvalación Avenue: the Chilean José Luis Rodríguez and Tomás Ruiz.
Already back to the south was the first Special Pass, in front of the ATSA campsite that Exequiel Alarcón (Municipality of Chimbas) won.
The Second Meta Sprint, on Route 40 in front of the Vicente Chancay Velodrome, Pocito (76.9 km) was in the hands of Tomás Ruiz, escorted by Arian Etcheverry and Omar Azzen and a few kilometers later they were reached by other cyclists who broke away from the peloton.
Transiting the final part of the race, it was the turn of the only Meta Montaña (3rd category) in Route 40, height El Cerrillo (105 km) and in the same place the Special Pass 2 was defined.
The definition determined that Ángel Oropel, (Municipality of Chimbas) was the winner; 2º the Peruvian Hugo Ruiz Calle (SEP); 3º Emiliano Pérez (Diberbool).
The third and last Special Pass was in front of the Barrio Solidaridad and was for Ángel Oropel (Municipality of Chimbas).
The final packaging in Media Agua was won by Peruvian Hugo Ruiz Calle (SEP); 2º was Joao Pedro Rossi, from Brazil (Swift Pro); 3º) Ángel Oropel (Municipality of Chimbas); 4º Emiliano Pérez (Diberbool); 5º Jacob Decar Zúñiga, from Chile (Stamina Racing).
Hugo Ruiz Calle is the first Peruvian to win a stage of the Vuelta a San Juan and after that victory he said: “Very happy and grateful above all with my entire team for the support and support they give me day by day.
The strategy to end up winning the stage was to be attentive especially for the general classification that is our goal. The escape occurred almost over the last 50 kilometers and it was a good circumstance that we managed to take advantage of and for tomorrow the goal is the general classification”
