Vuelta a San Juan 2026 🇦🇷 (NE) ME – Stage 4 ITT – Zonda – Ullum : 12,5 km
The traditional and recognized San Juan road cycling race , aimed at male cyclists of the U23 and Elite category, will be attended by renowned local, national and international teams from neighboring countries. The Vuelta a San Juan will have the organization of Pedal Club Olimpia, support from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport with the Secretariat of Sports and San Juan Sports Agency, supervision of the San Juan Cycling Federation and the main patronage of the Government of San Juan.
The fourth stage of the Vuelta a San Juan was considered by many as the first strong test for cyclists when it came to starting to set trends for the second half of the race. It was the time clock, with 12.5 km that joined Zonda with the Mirador de Punta Negra in Ullum and 111 cyclists who gave their best in the only individual partial, with a thermal sensation of 34 degrees.
Julián Díaz was the first to leave and behind him, Héctor Ramírez left late from the Municipality of Zonda on Av. José Ignacio de la Rosa and Monseñor Gallardo. The rain, at that moment began to fall slightly in the area of the Punta Negra Dike and as the minutes passed it was increasing, making it difficult for some cyclists to walk and in the final part it continued to accompany but in a more dim way.
Finally, as predicted, things changed because neither Nicolás Tivani nor Tomás Moyano had their best stage and the biggest candidates had to settle for staying away from the fastest and will have to face the second part of the race working hard with their teams to return to the first positions.
After winning the stage and moving on to command the general, Tomás Contte said: “We knew it was a hard time for the climb to the dam, although the difference could also have been made in the flat part because it was also going fast there.
What we expected was given, making it constant and it bore fruit because I could keep the stage. The truth is that this is not my specialty, but I am in very good shape, I have just been concentrating for a few days in San Luis and today gives us a lot of confidence to face what follows from the Vuelta.
I have a great pride in being the leader of the general and at the same time a tremendous responsibility and wearing this shirt will not be easy at all because of how the stages have been going.”
