The Vuelta a San Juan has the organization of Pedal Club Olimpia, support from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport with the Secretariat of Sports and San Juan Sports Agency, supervision of the San Juan Cycling Federation and the main patronage of the Government of San Juan.
After the route by train controlled by Mendoza Street to the intersection with Circunvalación Avenue, the official track of kilometer 0 was given (at approximately 2 km). They traveled Mendoza Street to 5th Street, spliced with Joaquín Uñac Avenue to 11th Street, having touched Capital, Rawson and Pocito in a few minutes. They turned east to reach Route 40 and then back to the south.
The first emotion came with the first Mountain Goal (category 3) on National Route 40, height El Cerrillo (37 km) where the Chilean Francisco Kotsakis (Plus Racing) stayed with the packaging, placing second another Chilean, Cristóbal Báez Muñoz (Plus Racing) and third was
Marcos León Rodríguez (Diberbool)
After passing through Route 295 (Sarmiento), they turned east to Route 246, to the north La Plata Street, continue north to Rawson Street (San Martín) where it was the first Meta Sprint, in front of Bodega Peñaflor, when 94.4 km had been traveled. Leandro Velardez (Municipality of Pocito) was the winner of the packaging, followed by Felipe Pizarro (Diberbool), from Chile, with Hugo Ruiz Calle (SEP San Juan), from Peru, in third place.
On Calle Nacional and Santa María de Oro, Angaco, with 111.5 km off, it was the second Meta Sprint, which was in the hands of Héctor Quintana de Chile (Plus Racing), escorted by Rodrigo Daniel Díaz (Municipality of Pocito) and third was the Chilean Felipe Pizarro (Diberbool).
The end of the stage, after a group that had achieved a light advantage in much of the partial, was neutralized, so a packing with several candidate protagonists was expected; there appeared the best San Juan cyclist of the moment and who dreams of repeating the success of 2025, Nicolás Tivani was the winner to start building that dream.
Nicolás Tivani: “The feelings are very nice. I think that although I have not felt the best feelings due to the change of weather, but the team trusted me and how nice it is to be able to give them this victory.
The strategy was first of all to try to be attentive with the leak, that we did not get a big leak, that there is not in the escape one of there the possible candidates, in the case of Chingolo of my brother, I of Tomy because it was going to be very complicated and at the time when the leak was closed we armed ourselves, we said we are going to play the sprint, I feel good and well, how nice it ended like this.
A year ago, in this same arrival it was also a close sprint. What do you remember from that lap? Yes, it was a bit the same there, it was a little long for me but it happened, which is the important thing. Now the goal will be – without a doubt – to defend the leading mesh and we will go day by day; we have started well, that is important, we have added ten seconds that that is also very important and tomorrow I am attentive that it will be a rather complicated stage.”
