75th Vuelta a Colombia 2025 🇨🇴 (2.2) ME – Stage 2 – Yopal – Alto del Porvenir : 152,7 km
The Vuelta a Colombia (Spanish for Tour of Colombia) is an annual cycling road race, run over many stages throughout different regions in Colombia and sometimes Venezuela and Ecuador during the first days of August. It is organized by the Colombian Cycling Federation, and is currently held as a category 2.2 event on the UCI America Tour.
Antioquian cyclist Sebastián Castaño, of Team Sistecrédito, took a high-caliber victory in the second stage of the 2025 Vuelta a Colombia – 75 años, after winning the demanding finish in Alto del Porvenir, after a 152.7-kilometer route starting in Yopal.
With a precise attack in the final meters of the climb, Castaño crossed the finish line with a time of 3 hours, 44 minutes, and 35 seconds, securing not only the stage but also the lead in the individual overall classification, with a performance that also allowed him to take the lead in the mountains and points classifications.
The podium for the stage was completed by Yeison Reyes (Orgullo Paisa), second, six seconds behind, and Javier Jamaica (NU Colombia), third, with the same time as the Boyacá native. Also in this group were Rodrigo Contreras (NU Colombia), Diego Camargo (Team Medellín), and Yesid Pira (Hino One La Red).
The best U-23 of the day was Mauricio Zapata (GW Erco Shimano), who crossed the finish line in 20th place overall and is the new leader in his category.
