75th Milano-Busseto 2025 🇮🇹 (1.13) – Busseto – Busseto : 149,1 km
Milano–Busseto is an under-23 road bicycle race held annually in Emilia-Romagna, Italy. The race is currently part of the national calendar of the Italian Cycling Federation as a category 1.13 event. It is therefore reserved for under-23 year old cyclists.
Founded in 1949 and skipped only on a couple of occasions (in 2010 and then in 2020 due to Covid), Milano-Busseto is preparing to celebrate its 75th edition. Appointment set for Saturday, April 5: it will also be the very first cycling race of the 2025 federal calendar in the province of Parma.
The Pedale Bussetano group has been working for months to organize the “Classicissima dei Dilettanti”, a national competition reserved for the Under 23, which for many years has been held simultaneously with the Milan-Sanremo, deserving this name that has then remained, despite changing the date. Even the departure, now for almost thirty years, takes place in Busseto, but this has not affected its charm, on the contrary.
‘Cause if it was once an almost completely flat race that developed in large part along the Via Emilia, today it has a more undulating path that makes it exciting. As far as the participants are concerned, it is already sold out: in a short time the maximum ceiling of two hundred registered, six per team, has been reached. Two foreign formations, one German and one Spanish.
Last year, among other things, a South African won, Travis Stedman. In Busseto, on April 5, the challenge between the promises of the pedal will be renewed, including the young people of Team Beltrami-Tre Colli, a team of our home. The route of the last editions has been confirmed: 149 kilometers planned, departure at 13.20 from Piazza Verdi, then the caravan will head towards the hills, to face the ascent of Vernasca and then the classic circuit with the ascent that culminates in front of the Castle of Vigoleno, to be repeated two and a half times.
At the third passage the turn towards Scipione Ponte, and then head to Ponte Ghiara and Fidenza. Here a circuit will be addressed with the ascent of Cogolonchio, the descent from Costa Ferrari, then the ascent to Costa Guarda and finally another descent from Siccomonte. Everything to be repeated twice. In conclusion, the caravan will cross the Bassa to point straight towards Busseto, where the now usual final circuit is confirmed with passage for three times (including the finish) on the finish line in Viale Pallavicino.
