GP Berra Immobilier 2025 🇨🇭 (NE) ME – Saillon – Saillon : 152,8 km
Since 1967, the Vélo-Club Excelsior has organized a national race every spring that has become, over the years, a true classic of the Swiss calendar. Initially known as Grand-Prix Valloton, named after the winemaker André Valloton, first sponsor and creator of the race with Sylvain Gex and Jean-Marie Lonfat, it became the GP L’Échappée between 2019 and 2021, then the GP Berra Immobilier since 2022.
If it has evolved slightly over the editions, the course has always been located in a rectangle with Fully, Chamoson, Riddes and Charrat as angles. In the heart of the Alps, however, the Valais classic spring does not necessarily give pride of place to climbers. If the Côte d’Anzé, the climbs to Produit, Chamoson or Ecône are, or have served, as a Prix de la Montagne, the wind sweeping the long straight lines of the Rhône plain is not the least of difficulties. Between the 1980s and the early 2000s, the arrival was located at the top of a real wall in the Fully vineyard, which served as a justice of the peace before returning to the plain in 2007. The year 2023 marks the beginning of a new page in the history of the event with a move to Saillon for departures and arrivals and a shorter and more nervous course via the coasts of Anzé and Chamoson.
