First victory of the season for Top Girls – Fassa Bortolo thanks to Irma Siri, the nineteen-year-old from Vallecrosia (IM) wins the “Giro della Provincia di Pordenone – Memorial Ligidio Zilli”. The Valvasone Arzene (PN) race was immediately controlled by the blue-orange athletes, Sara Luccon was on the run for about 80 kilometers with Asia Zontone (Isolmant – Premac – Vittoria). The two athletes were taken two laps from the end; a fall when they were about three and a half kilometers from the finish line shuffled the cards on the table, eight athletes were involved including Alice Bulegato and Marta Pavesi. Irma Siri and her companions reorganized and won in the volley. Chiara Reghini crossed the finish line sixth, Virginia Bortoli eighth.
Irma Siri’s words: “I’m really happy, it’s been a long time since I raised my arms to the sky and finally this victory came that I dedicated to Samuele Privitera, my lifelong friend, who missed the Tour of the Valle D’Aosta two weeks ago. I thank Lucio (Rigato ed) and the team for everything they do for us.” (Photo by Flaviano Ossola)
