The 64th opening race in Leonding promises to be pure excitement. The opening of the Austrian cycling season on Sunday, March 30, 2025, will see the first showdown between all Austrian teams on home soil. The race, which is part of the Upper Austria CLASSICS, also marks the start of the Road Cycling League Austria. “The professional cyclists are looking forward to the first road race in Austria; the selective course with the key mountain classification at Aichberg promises very exciting races,” emphasizes Upper Austrian Cycling President Paul Resch.
The men’s cycling classic starts at 12:00 p.m. on March 30, 2025. A fast race is expected on the 153.2-kilometer course. Due to the slightly hilly course profile, numerous breakaway attempts are to be expected. The elite class will complete a total of six long laps (the route runs from the start and finish at Leonding town square via Rufling, Dörnbach, Mühlbach, and Wilhering) and four short laps, with the decisive race coming on the multiple climbs to the Aichberg. The finish is expected at 3:30 p.m.
