For nearly four decades, the Circuit des Plages Vendéennes has established itself as one of the major cycling events on the national calendar. Created in 1987, this emblematic competition gathers the elite of men’s and women’s cycling every year and is open to professional categories, offering a prime stage for both established talents and future champions. For the 2026 edition, the event will span six days of competition, bringing together between 150 and 170 riders ready to battle across demanding courses shaped by the landscapes of Vendée—ranging from the coastline and sea winds to the marshes.
Demanding and Selective – The first event of the 2026 Circuit des Plages Vendéennes will kick off from Saint-Fulgent for a 141 km loop passing through the towns of Saint-André-Goule-d’Oie and La Rabatelière. On a hilly and treacherous circuit, the riders’ endurance will be quickly put to the test. Successive difficulties, including the famous La Salette climb, promise an animated race with no respite.
