MTB – Urban DHI Cerro Abajo 2025 ME – Stage 3 – Guanajuato, Mexico 🇲🇽
The world’s most epic urban downhill mountain bike race takes place in Guanajuato, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Mexico’s most magical little towns. Marking the third edition in the country, it’s the third stop of the three-part series that sees competitors race in streets dating back to the 16th century as they compete to determine the ultimate Red Bull Cerro Abajo winner.
Red Bull Guanajuato Cerro Abajo is the final stop of the 2025 Red Bull Cerro Abajo series, bringing the top urban downhill riders to the heart of Guanajuato, Mexico. With its steep alleyways, underground tunnels, and colonial architecture, this UNESCO World Heritage city sets the stage for a high-speed showdown where the series champion will be crowned.
With its intense descents, tight corners, and high-risk jumps, this race is not just a test of technical skill but a battle for the ultimate urban downhill championship title. Riders will be pushed to their absolute limits as they go all-in for victory in the final race of the Red Bull Cerro Abajo 2024/5 season.
The 1.08 km course features a 133m vertical drop, over 300 steps, and man-made obstacles, including a section that will see riders blaze a trail through a house, and across the city’s rooftops. Expect an adrenaline-charged spectacle as riders push their limits through Guanajuato’s twisting, historic streets.
Red Bull Guanajuato Cerro Abajo is a high-stakes urban downhill battle where every second counts. The race follows a time-trial format, where riders take on the course individually, and the fastest descent wins. Conquering the race track isn’t just about pure speed, it’s also a testament to the rider’s precision, confidence and control in navigating one of the most intense urban downhill courses in the sport.
The course is packed with punishing stair sets, rooftop drops, tight alleyway corners, and high-speed wallrides, demanding razor-sharp reflexes and fearless commitment. Every man-made feature – jumps, drops, and wallrides – is mandatory, with a 5-second penalty for incorrect execution. Unlike traditional downhill courses, there’s no tape marking the track, so riders must rely on track memorisation to find the fastest lines.
